For a solo traveller like me who loves to stay outside Darjeeling Mall, Smriya Homestay would be the best option. It will take around 15 to 20 minutes walking reaching to Mall Aria from their Homestay. 5 minutes distance from the Darjeeling bus stand. Room condition, Food, and Hospitality all are 10/ 10. I am really satisfied with their services. I will meet them again.

Smriya homestay has one disadvantage that it's a bit higher from the Darjeeling main road but then that becomes it's advantage as well. Rooms are quiet, WiFi available, geyser, clean rooms and a view of the entire hills from the window.
The owners are great people, I stayed for 3 days and it was one of the best experiences ever. The height one needs to climb to get here provides them the quietness to enjoy the view of the place.

The rooms are very small, not at all like what they show in pictures. The view everywhere is blocked and you have to move uphill or downhill just for everything. it's not a suitable place to stay for anyone who is not very fit or has a problem with uphill or downhill walks. Either way it's very slopy. The room rate is too high considering the mis-information. the food rate is ok. Owners are friendly and helpful. Wi-fi is good.
The location is nice, you can get the view of happy valley tea state from your room, the owner is friendly and welcoming, BTW he is a singer and can also arrange a discount for you in Glenary's where he performs every weekend ð. Amenities can be a bit better and rooms can be more tidy. Overall it is a okay place to stay.

The hotel is located little away from the main bus stand, just above Happy Valley Tea Garden, Darjeeling. In no minutes you can reach the tea garden. The rooms with wide windows gives you the view of the green lash mountains and tea garden...
