Couple

We had a fantastic stay at Vista Hostel. The staff are so friendly and helpful and really make you feel at home. The food is good, the rooms and bathrooms are impeccably clean, and the mud-house style bedrooms are super cosy and cute. The views from the Hostel are also amazing and there are quite a few reasonably priced excursions and activities offered by the hostel. It's a wonderful place to take some time out to relax.

Vacation

Vista hostel is an experiment in nature. It is a great place for those who want to disconnect from the buzz and spend some time with themselves quietly. It is located one kilometer of walk on a small hilly trail from the roadhead and the staff helps with baggage. But I would advice travelling light. The rooms are very basic and some could do with some better ventilation and light. There are common toilet and bathrooms, which leave a lot to be desired. The staff is kind and willing to help. Food is nice and common dining area is a great place to mingle with other hostellers. We had gone there as three families, but felt it was a better choice for backpackers, than family travelers. Shantanu was a great host and helped us with arranging vehicle to drop off to Kathgodam. Bubu, the original owner of the land and man of the wild, took us on a wonderful trail to a hill top temple for a nice sunset and guided us back superbly even in the dead of the dark past sunset.
