Itinerary

1. Pura Ulun Danu Beratan

Pura Ulun Danu Beratan, or Pura Bratan, is a major Hindu Shaivite temple in Bali, Indonesia. The temple complex is on the shores of Lake Beratan in the mountains near Bedugul.

2. Bali Handara Gate

Bali Handara Gate is located in Pancasari Village Bedugul, the central highlands of Bali and nestled down inside the crater of an extinct volcano at an altitude of almost 1,400 meters (almost 4,000 feet) above sea level. This is one of the most Instagrammed spot on the island. It's become a must-visit place among tourists and photography lover. Handara Gate is actually the entrance to a golf resort. The traditional Hindu gate symbolises the entrance from the outer world to the temple, or in this case, golf course, and plays an important role in Indonesian culture, particularly in Bali."

3. Bedugul

Bedugul is a mountain lake resort area in Bali, Indonesia, located in the centre-north region of the island near Lake Bratan on the road. Major sites in Bedugul are the Pura Ulun Danu Bratan water temple, which gained World Heritage Site status with the Unesco listing of the subak water system; and the Bali Botanic Garden, the largest botanic garden in Indonesia.

4. Tanah Lot

Tanah Lot is a rock formation off the Indonesian island of Bali. It is home to the ancient Hindu pilgrimage temple Pura Tanah Lot, a popular tourist and cultural icon for photography.

Holiday

Surrounded by sea, it's a beautiful view. The best time to visit is around sunset. Although entering the temple is prohibited but you can feel the energy around. The shacks, small cafes and restaurant on the hill provide the best view to have a chilled beer and enjoy the sunset.

Local Guide

Nicely looking temple. No entry as the gate is closed but you can go near to it walking through the water. Few sea side restaurants at the top of the peak left side from where you can have good view of the temple and it’s a good sunset view point.

Local Guide

The view from the hill overlooking Tanah Lot Temple is absolutely magical, especially at sunset. However, accessing the temple itself was disappointing. You can’t really go inside, and there’s a bit of a tourist trap at the entrance where you’re asked to get blessed and make a contribution, only to find out the temple is locked. You can just climb a couple of stairs and see a limited view. My advice: skip the temple entrance and head straight to the hilltop for an unforgettable view.
