Staying at the White House Boat on Dal Lake was a dream come true! From the moment we stepped aboard, we were enveloped in luxury and charm. The traditional Kashmiri craftsmanship of the boat's interior was awe-inspiring, creating an ambiance of warmth and authenticity. Our room was elegantly decorated and boasted panoramic views of the picturesque surroundings. The attentive staff ensured every aspect of our stay was perfect, from the delicious meals served onboard to arranging unforgettable shikara rides on the tranquil waters of Dal Lake. The serene setting of the White House Boat provided a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, making it the perfect retreat for relaxation and rejuvenation. Our experience surpassed all expectations, and we can't wait to return to this hidden gem on Dal Lake!

It was a wonderful experience staying on the White House boat. The sunrise view from outside was beautiful. We tried almost all the varieties of traditional wazwan prepared by Iqbal and his family, which was a great experience for us as it was our first time trying traditional Kashmiri food, and it was homemade and very tasty. If anyone stays on the houseboat, I would highly recommend trying it. Iqbal provided all the help with hiring a local taxi and planning our trip.

Our stay at White House house boat on Dal Lake was one of the most memorable experiences of our recent trip to India from the US. There are many house boats to choose from when staying on this beautiful lake, but this one is unique in several ways. The view is breath-taking as the boat is on a corner providing open views in two directions including the open lake with distant mountains. This was also the best hospitality I've experienced staying anywhere. This is a family buisness and the owner clearly takes great pride in providing his guests with a great experience. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and was very helpful in recommending local attractions and explaining the history of the house boats. Finally, the food was absolutely incredible! We enjoyed wonderful home-cooked Veg dinner and breakfast on the boat that was some of the best we've had during our travels in India. It truly feels like home staying here, and I would recommend White House house boat to anyone traveling in J&K.Food & drinks: The included home-cooked meals were incredible. Spice level was catered to your taste and you could select the timing of your meals to meet your schedule. Complimentary tea was also very nice!
